In a new development in West Asia crisis, the External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar spoke to his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi late on Friday night, 31st of July 2026, and conveyed India’s deep concerns over the ongoing hostilities in the West Asia region.
During the telephonic conversation, Dr Jaishankar strongly urged that attacks on commercial shipping and seafarers be avoided under any circumstance.
The External Affairs Minister is reported to have stressed his Iranian counterpart that India condemns any such attack by any party.
In a social media twitter message Dr Jaishankar said that he was also apprised of Iran’s perspective of current developments and discussions, which are underway.
The EAM added that India is always supportive of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve any conflict situation.
