The Defence Ministry has expressed profound grief over the untimely demise of Nampibou Marinmai, former PRO Defence at the Directorate of Public Relations (DPR) Headquarters and former Director of DD News Mizoram. He was among three government officials, including senior IIS officer Dr Engam Pame, Additional Director General of PIB Imphal, who lost their lives in a tragic road accident near Aizawl.
In its condolence message, the ministry said Marinmai’s dedicated service as PRO Defence and his longstanding contribution to defence journalism would be remembered with deep respect.
It noted that his dedicated zeal in reporting on the Armed Forces and his efforts to bring their achievements and stories closer to the public earned him widespread appreciation and lasting regard.
