The Indian security agencies have successfully brought back three absconding gangsters linked to the Bambiha Gang apprehended in Malaysia.
In a social media message posted on Monday the 24th of August 2026, Home Ministry Office informed that the gangsters identified as Jaspreet Singh, Ajay Singh, and Pawandeep Singh have been brought back to India and sent to police custody.
The accused are involved in multiple crimes, including extortion, cross-border arms and narco-trafficking, and a foiled grenade attack in Ludhiana.
The Bambiha Gang is a major inter-state and transnational crime syndicate founded by the late kabaddi player-turned-criminal Davinder Bambiha.
Operating across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan, the gang is primarily known for extortion, targeted killings, and its brutal, long-standing bloody rivalry with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar syndicate
The criminal syndicate runs large-scale extortion rackets targeting businessmen, professionals, and local figures across North India to finance its network
According to police sources the Bambiha gang was frequently involved in alleged contract killings and tit-for-tat murders with rival factions, including the notorious Bishnoi gang.
It may be recalled that in Punjab the nefarious activities of this gang included the murder of youth leader Vicky Middukhera, which was later linked into the high-profile killing of popular singer Sidhu Moose Wala, prompting further retaliatory hits by the Bambiha network.
Security agencies have pinpointed their operations managed largely by foreign-based operatives, such as Lucky Patiyal.
In countries like Malaysia, the gang has been tied to cross-border arms and narcotics smuggling, as well as planned terror-related activities like localized grenade attacks.
To strengthen its standing against the Bishnoi gang, the Bambiha syndicate formed strategic alliances with other criminal groups, such as the Neeraj Bawana and late Tillu Tajpuria network
This year the central security agencies have successfully facilitated the deportation of 51 hardened criminals from various countries.
