In Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla adjourned it within seconds of convening of the House.
In Rajya Sabha, Chairman C P Radhakrishnan took nearly an hour to muster pass the amendments in the Mines and Minerals Bill before adjourning the House for indefinite period just around noon following the traditional playing of Vande Mataram.
The adjournment came amid persistent Opposition protests, and heavy sloganeering disrupted both the Houses.
Throughout the Monsoon Session intense political friction, marked by high-voltage counter-protests between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Opposition MPs at the main gate of the new Parliament House, the Makar Dwar.

That was followed by controversial sloganeering by opposition MPs, led by Congress MP Pawan Khera, who were seen protesting with a toy monkey and sloganeering, “56 inch ka chhota bandar, jaldi aao sadan ke andar.”
The opposition Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi accused the ruling party of intentionally stalling parliamentary proceedings.
“It is the ruling party itself that is preventing Parliament from functioning.

Later speaking to media, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that Parliament passed 12 Bills during the just concluded Monsoon Session, but the government was not satisfied with the quality of discussions.
The Minister added stating that – “this is the first time I have seen the opposition shying away from discussion… The opposition seeks answers from the government, and the government is bound to provide them. Yet, inside Parliament, we witnessed a scenario where the government itself was calling for a discussion, while the opposition was making excuses to avoid it. This is not healthy for the parliamentary democracy… They declared they would neither listen to the discussion nor hear the minister’s reply”, Rijiju added.
