Major portion of headquarters of the now defamed Tablighi Jamaat located at Markazi Masjid in Delhi’s Nizamuddin West is most likely to be demolished.

‘Top five out of seven floor constructed are unauthorised’, stated a senior official South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).

Various media reports including television stations carried interviews of local municipal corporator saying the TJ structure is wholesomely illegal and unauthorised.

The building now stands sealed after CoronaVirus leak.

It was constructed after demolishing an old structure in the year 1992.

SDMC official briefed media persons that as per the available records Building Plans Committee (BPC) had sanctioned only two floors. And that too for a madarsa school for preaching Islamic studies.

Over the span of time, five additional unauthorised floors were added without proper municipal corporation’s approval.

As written earlier, the Tablighi Jamaat (TJ) has turned out to be the biggest headache for law enforcing agencies in as many as 17 states across India.

It is now an established fact that 30 per cent of positive cases affected by CoronaVirus in India were traced to TJs. They reportedly held an alleged unauthorised religious congregation for three days between 13-15 March 2020.

Trouble started when CoronaVirus had quietly spread among the attendees. It is believed that many foreign nationals who came for the congregation brought the COVID19 virus (CoronaVirus) with them.

What raised alarm bells within the Home Ministry was that hundreds of such foreign nationals who took part in Tablighi Jamaat’s meeting were apparently carrying tourists visas.

North Block has now blacklisted 1320 such tourists visa holders who flouted travel rules.

Rules are very clear in this regard which prohibits tourists to take part in any demonstration or religious congregation during their stay in India.

Majority of blacklisted tourists are from Indonesia. Henceforth they will not be allowed to enter India anymore.

Apart from this a separate control room has been established in Home Ministry’s North Block and is closely monitoring the situation.

Police authorities across the country have been authorised to trace these missing Tablighi Jamaat’s by chasing their cell phone signals. Necessary paperwork has been completed by various agencies to tap their phones and locate their whereabouts.

“In the eyes of experts and acknowledged universally, India had a firm grip on the pandemic situation till this ‘TJ time bomb’ incident”, stated a senior Health Ministry official who is part of the task force dealing with pandemic CoronaVirus outbreak.
