Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday the 10th of Ocrober 2022 announced big projects for Jammu and Kashmir worth more than Rs 2200 crores.
While addressing the 4th edition of Heli-India Summit in Srinagar, Scindia said a Civil Enclave Airport at Jammu worth Rs 861 crore and expansion of Terminal Building at Srinagar at a cost of Rs 1,500 crore is coming up in the Union Territory.
He said work has started in right earnest to implement what is known as “heli policy” and use of helicopters in emergency medical services.
Union Minister on the occasion termed the Summit as a historic moment for J&K. A new beginning has been made in the expansion of helicopter services, he added.
It’s the push that ‘last mile connectivity provided by helicopters’ has brought various stakeholders of the industry will bring all areas of the union territory of J&K on faster growth pattern, the civil aviation minister added.
