In a clear and stern warning issued to Pakistan, India has asked it to vacate all territories illegally occupied in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.

The warning came after recent bloodshed in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir where about 90 civilians have been killed in the wake of administrative clampdown by local Pakistani authorities.

On Wednesday the 5th of August 2026, the Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Randhir Jaiswal in strongly worded statement said Islamabad should take credible, verifiable, and irreversible action against terror networks operating from its soil and immediately vacate all Indian territories under its illegal and forcible occupation.

Randhir Jaiswal was responding to media queries regarding comments made by Pakistan Foreign Minister on the so-called Youm-e-Istehsal and added that the world is not fooled by these orchestrated spectacles.

Even since that fateful day on 5th of August 2019 when India abolished Article 370, embarrassed and battered Pakistan has been marking this date in the calendar as what Islamabad terms its Youm-e-Istehsal, meaning the “Day of Exploitation” or “Kashmir Siege Day”.

In Pakistan and Pakistani occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), the day is used to stage protests against India’s actions.

The Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are, have always been, and shall forever remain an integral and inalienable part of India, Jaiswal added.

The MEA has stressed that the constitutional changes made on 5th August, 2019, are entirely an internal matter of India.

Randhir Jaiswal stated that this decision to abolish Article 370 has brought unprecedented socio-economic development, good governance, and democratic empowerment to the people of the region.

The MEA spokesperson said Pakistan has no locus standi to comment on matters that are strictly internal to India.

Jaiswal added that Pakistan’s desperate attempts to peddle falsehoods are intended solely to deflect international attention from its own dismal human rights record and its status as the global epicentre of terrorism.

He said the international community is currently witnessing the brutal suppression of fundamental rights in PoJK. Recent weeks have seen Pakistani security forces resort to lethal violence, targeted killings, and draconian bans to silence peaceful civil rights protests led by the local populace.

About 90 innocent and peaceful protesters have been killed by Pak forces  in the recent days and Jaiswal added that all this clearly exposes the profound hypocrisy of the Pakistani establishment.
