Noose around pro-Pakistani kashmiri separatist Yasin Malik’s neck got tightened further on Thursday the 19th of May 2022 when a special NIA court in Delhi formally convicted him for spreading terrorism in the Kashmir Valley in 2017.
The judge of the special court of the National Investigating Agency (NIA) is Praveen Singh.
On Wednesday next week he has directed Yasin Malik to be again produced in his court when quantum of sentence will be argued by both the sides.
The separatist/terrorist may get maximum punishment for his crimes against India and could spend rest part of his natural life inside Tihar Jail where is currently lodged.
Yasim Malik had pleaded guilty to charges under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
He is now formally charged for hatching a criminal conspiracy, waging war against the country, other unlawful activities and in particularly disturbing peace in the Kashmir valley.
Various agencies reported that the last date of hearing, Yasin Malik stated in the court that he was not contesting the charges levelled against him, including Section 16 (terrorist act), 17 (raising funds for the terrorist act), 18 (conspiracy to commit terrorist act), and 20 (being member of a terrorist gang or organisation) of the UAPA and Sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 124-A (sedition) of the Indian Penal Code.
The NIA’s Special Judge Praveen Singh had earlier held that it was “prima facie” established beyond reasonable doubt that Malik and his associates had received funds from across the border to spread terrorist in India.
