On Tuesday the 19th of March 2024 when news came-in from the jungles of LWE areas of Chhattisgarh that two supporters of outlawed and anti-national organisation the Communist Party of India – Maoists group were eliminated, it was a grand success story for the CAPFs operation.
Various local tv news channels along with mainstream news agency ANI reported that in a coordinated operation between the CRPF and the local armed police constabulary killed two Naxalites in Dantewada’s Bijapur border area.
Specifically the encounter took place in the forest of Purangel, Gampur, under the Kirandul police station area.
One among two bodies recovered was that of female Naxalite.
Some quantity of ammunition was also recovered from the encounter site.
When the last reports came-in, the state armed police forces have launched their combing of the area even as Maoists retreated into the neighbouring jungle.
