Security forces gunned down three Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants in an encounter that erupted in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday, the 30th of August, 202, officials said.
News agency UNI is reporting that the said the gun battle erupted at Nagbal during a cordon and a search operation in the area following an input about the presence of militants.
“As the joint team of forces cordoned the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire, triggering a gunfight during which two LeT militants were killed in the initial contact,” a security official said.
“Both the killed militants were affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT”, they said.
One more militants was killed this evening during the gunfight taking the toll to three, police said.
“1 more terrorist killed (Total 03). Search going on. Further details shall follow”, a police tweet said.
Police said the joint forces were on the job.
