Reports are coming-in that during a bigtime anti-Naxal operations on Bastar-Chhattisgarh, India’s most wanted Left Wing Extremists (LWE) extremists known as Hidma received a gunshot wound and may have been cornered by security forces.
Also during the same operation a helicopter operated by a security forces was forced to land after being hit by a rebel ground fire in Elmagunda village in Baster area.
News agency UNI is reporting that Hidma sustained a gunshot injury and the ultras suffered heavy casualties though there is no official word from the official sources.
The operation’s ‘ground zero’ is Kumartong. It is situated 12 km from Chintalnar in the vicinity of which 75 CRPF personnel attained martyrdom on April 6, 2010.
A brief background check on Hidma says that he is the shadowy, almost mythical commander of the Maoists Peoples Liberation Guerilla Army Battalion 1 and a member of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee that leads the Maoist operations in Chhattisgarh.
Hidma’s militia is active in districts of South Bastar, Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada, the epicenter of clashes between the Maoists and security forces.
He carries a reward of Rs 25 lakh on his head from the Chhattisgarh government, and Rs 20 lakh from other states and agencies.
