Indian Army troops and China’s PLA platoons have successfully disengaged from one of the fiction points located at Gogra post in Eastern Ladakh.

This was announced by a statement issued from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) on 06 August 2021.

This is a follow-up of the 12th round of Indo-China border talks held on 31 July between Corps Commanders at the LAC’s Chushul-Moldo meeting point.

The full text of the MoD’s statement is:

Following last year’s border tension and clashes that took place along the LAC, there were six major flash points where lengthy stand-off situations had continued. Gogra post being one of them.

Disengagements had already taken place from the North and South of Pangong Lake and from the Galwan Valley conflict area.

Two more locations remain troublesome.

They are at the Depsang Plains and the Hot Spring in Ladakh.

Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) airstrip at the Depsang plains is a strategic Advance Landing Ground (ALG) facility close to the Karakarom Pass.

The Chinese PLA had been camping at close quarters in front of Indian Army-ITBP positions in the Depsang Plains area and have blocked few patrol movements.
