The Modi government appears to be leaving no stone unturned with regard to track down all Pakistani nationals who are attempting to evade security apparatus within the country.
On Friday the 25th of Aprill 2025, sources in the Home Ministry said that Home Minister Amit Shah has told all chief ministers across the nation to speedily track down all Pakistani nationals within their state territories so that they can be deported back.
He also instructed the state authorities to report the details to the Central Government, enabling the cancellation of visas and expediting the deportation procedure.
Notably, on April 22, the day of the Pahalgam carnage, that left 26 tourists dead, the Union Home Minister had immediately left for Srinagar to personally take stock of the situation.
It may be recalled that at the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on 23rd of April 2025, far reaching decisions against Pakistan were taken including that of cancellation of visas to Pakistani nationals.
