The Monsoon Session of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die on Monday the 8th of August 2022, four days ahead of its schedule.
The session was scheduled to end on August 12.
According to the statistics released by the Parliament , a total of 16 sittings of Lok Sabha were held which lasted for about 44 hours 29 minutes.
In Rajya Sabha, Chairman Venkaiah Naidu, who is set to retire on August 10, said the House had 16 sittings during which it conducted its Business for more than 35 Hours.
Just before the Lok Sabha’s monsoon session was adjourned sine die, the Speaker Om Birla stated that in all six Government Bills were introduced and the seven Bills were passed.
The Bills passed in this session by Lok Sabha includes The Indian Antarctic Bill, 2022, The Family Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2022, The National Anti-Doping Bill, 2021, The Wild Life Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2021, The Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2022, The Energy Conservation (Amendment) Bill, 2022 and The New Delhi International Arbitration Centre (Amendment) Bill, 2022.
Even as the House saw several adjournments through the Session, 46 Starred Questions were answered, 318 matters of public interest were raised under Rule 377, and 98 matters were raised in Zero Hour.
A total of 41 reports were presented by various Parliamentary Standing Committees during the Session.
Members of both the Houses of Parliament also extended farewell to the outgoing President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on July 23, and Droupadi Murmu took Oath of Office in the Central Hall of Parliament House on July 25.
