India has been invited to attend the G7 summit meeting’s Outreach Session scheduled to be held in Italy in June next.
On Thursday, while taking time off from the hectic electioneering the Prime Minister spoke to the Georgia Meloni his counterpart in Italy thanking for the invite.
The next G7 Summit will be held for three days in Borgo Egnazia, in Italy beginning on 13th of June.
The event will bring together the Leaders of the seven-member States, the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission representing the European Union.
On January 1, 2024,Italy assumed, for the seventh time, the Presidency of the G7 group of countries.
The Group of Seven popularly known as G7 is an informal forum that brings together Italy, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the USA.
The European Union also participates in the Group and is represented at the summits by the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission.
