Indian Army sources have stated that on the night of 26th-27th April 2025, Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control in the areas opposite Tutmari Gali (Nowgam sector) and Rampur ( Boniyar Uri) Sectors. Our troops responded effectively with appropriate small arms fire.”

The firing was reported from the Nowgam sector in Kupwara district and the Boniyar sector in Baramulla district, they said.

Army responded “effectively with appropriate small arms fire”.

Security sources said that intense exchange of fire took place in the Nowgam sector for nearly two hours.

The gunfire at the LOC  started around 1 am.

There was, however, no report of any casualty during the exchange of fire.

The latest incident of unprovoked firing across the Line of Control comes-in after India stopped operation of Indus Water Treaty agreement in wake of Pak sponsored Pahalgam carnage.

The deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 had claimed the lives of 26 tourists.
