An important phone call took place between Indian and Canadian foreign ministry officials on Friday the 17th of June 2022 to pointedly discuss the global food crisis arsing out of continued Russia-Ukraine conflict.
According to sources in ministry of external affairs, foreign secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra had a productive phone call with Canada’s deputy foreign minister Marta Morgan during which they discussed about bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest as well as Ukraine and its fallout on global food security.
The talks come ahead of a likely meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi with his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau at the G7 Summit at Schloss Elmau, Germany, later this month.
