One of the Army’s top operational commander has just finished a two-day visit to strategic areas along the India-Myanmar border in the eastern most part of India.

According the details released by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Tuesday the 25th of February 2025, the Director General Military Operations (DGMO) of Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, visited Manipur on 24 and 25 February 2025 to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation along the Indo-Myanmar Border (IMB) and insights into the status of ongoing border infrastructure developments in the state.

The DGMO focused on the operational preparedness of the Indian Army, carried out an assessment of the security situation along the Indo-Myanmar Border (IMB), and the current security dynamics in the state, including fringe areas.

He also emphasised on a ‘whole of Government approach’ during interactions with key stakeholders.

The discussions centred around the normalisation of prevailing security situation in the state, particularly the need to enhance border management and strengthen security infrastructure along the IMB.

During his visit, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai also met the Governor of Manipur Ajay Kumar Bhalla along with other officials from state machinery including Security Advisor, the Chief Secretary of Manipur and the Director General of Police Manipur.
