Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered sealing of three properties of banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), including a residential proprietary land in the name of now dead separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani, reports news agency ANI.
The orders for the sealing have been issued by the district magistrate (DM) Srinagar following the investigation by the State Investigation Agency (SIA), Kashmir in a case U/S 10, 11 & 13 of police station Batamaloo.
The ANI report added that the DM Srinagar in its order had stated that the Government of India, in exercise of the powers vested in it under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 has declared the Jamaat, Jammu & Kashmir as an unlawful association.
