Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari attended the swearing-in ceremony of new Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran earlier on Tuesday the 30th of July 2024.
On the occasion, Gadkari conveyed the good wishes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to President Pezeshkian on assuming office, a statement said.
During Minister Nitin Gadkari’s interactions in Iran, both sides positively assessed the state of bilateral relations, including cooperation on the development of Chabahar Port.
Both sides underscored that Chabahar Port would contribute to strengthening bilateral and regional trade. It would provide access to landlocked Afghanistan and Central Asian countries to regional and global markets.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian took the oath of office before Parliament on Tuesday afternoon, with dignitaries from more than 80 countries attending the ceremony.
President Pezeshkian will lead the country’s executive branch for a four-year term.
