Soon, very soon, e-pass feature will get energised in your Aarogya Setu app. This will act as filter for individuals moving around in public places.
Aarogya Setu app is likely to have have three colours Green, Orange and Red based on the health index of an individual.
It is widely believed that this e-pass feature in the app is based on similar mechanism created in China where Green Status will indicate a risk-free individual who can use public transport and visit public places in post lockdown period.
The Orange Status will ask the individual to avoid gatherings and maintain physical distance while being allowed to move for necessary work.
Persons with Red Status will be strongly advised to self-quarantine.
In his address to the Nation, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked every Indian to install the Aarogya Setu app.
Soon after Modi’s naional broadcast a fifth version was rolled out on Wednesday stating “Coming Soon; e-pass”.
The new update gives us the first glimpse (see photo) of how the app could be used as an electronic travel pass in the post-CoronaVirus world.
According to latest reports, about 6 crore Indians have downloaded Aarogya Setu App in the last fortnight.
