Donald Trump escaped bid on his life at an election campaign rally after a bullet fired by a lone assassin pierced his ear.

The incident took place on Saturday the 13th of July 2024 at a place known as Butler in Pennsylvania where multiple shots were fired at Donald Trump from a distance.

The 20 year old assassin identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks was immediately killed by counter sniper fire by an US Secret Service agent.

One rally attendee was killed while two others were seriously injured when the last reports came-in.

Trump was seen bleeding from his right ear when Secret Service agents whisked him away to safety.

Security experts who replayed the footage of the incident said – for Donald Trump it was a miraculous escape from death. It was a matter of only one inch difference.

While addressing his constituents, he had turned his head towards his right side when assassination bid took place.

Instead of bullet hitting straight on his head, as he had turned, the bullet just grazed his right ear and apparently hit someone else.

Messages of sympathy for Trump and outrage against political violence poured-in from across world.

In a post on X, the PM while wishing Trump speedy recovery also said that violence has no place in politics and democracies.

“Deeply concerned by the attack on my friend, former President Donald Trump. Strongly condemn the incident. Violence has no place in politics and democracies. Wish him speedy recovery.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, those injured and the American people.”
