In a major success the Indian Coast Guard led joint action team seized a Pakistani boat carrying contraband worth Rs 600 crores.
According to a state police officials from Gujarat and Ministry of Defence officials, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) along with the Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), seized 86 kg contraband worth Rs 600 crore from a Pakistani boat with 14 crew members onboard on Sunday.
The Pakistani boat’Al-Raza’ was apprehended in an overnight operation in the Arabian Sea, West of Porbandar Gujarat, the Indian Coast Guard said in a post on X.
All arrested Pakistani nationals are from Balochistan.
In a post on X, the ICG said, ‘Anti #Narco #Operations @IndiaCoastGuard Ship Rajratan with #ATS #Gujarat & #NCB @narcoticsbureau in an overnight sea – air coordinated joint ops apprehends #Pakistani boat in Arabian Sea, West of #Porbandar with 14 Pak crew & @86 Kg contraband worth approx Rs 600Cr in succession to the interception last month that led to a catch of 80 kgs drugs”.
The news agency ANI was quoting DGP of Gujarat stating “that the consignment was not for India but Sri Lanka.”
