Campaigning came to an end on Saturday the 12th of February 2022 for Uttarakhand and Goa assembly elections.
Polling takes place on14th February in both the states.
There are 70 Assembly seats in Uttarakhand. In Goa this number is 40.
Counting of votes will be taken-up on 10th March with rest of the three other states where state assembly elections are being held.
Polling in Uttarakhand, Goa and Punjab is a day-long affair. In Manipur it’s a two phase election whereas it’s a seven phase assembly election in Uttar Pradesh.
On Saturday active electioneering came to an end at 6 pm in accordance with the Election Commission’s (EC) guidelines.
With COVID-19 restrictions inplace including a ban on physical rallies, the political parties were forced to resort to virtual rallies and scaled-down door-to-door campaigns.
However, the ban on physical rallies was lifted in a phased manner by the EC from February 1 on-wards.
