Union Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday the 29th of April 2022 said the state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will roll out indigenous 4G networks in a few weeks at 2,342 sites across India that have been identified.
“Day before yesterday,” Ashwini Vaishnaw said that after last cabinet’s meeting which decided t roll out BSNL’s 4G “Locations for 2343 sites have been finalised. Rolling out will start in the next few weeks,” and soon top class 4G network will be made available to millions specially who live close to the international borders area where cell phone network still works in 2G/3G.
The BSNL’s 4G telecom network is fully indigenously developed.
In the coming weeks and months 1.12 lakh towers are expected to be come operational.
The government has made a provision of Rs 45,000 crore for BSNL to roll out the 4G network.
