As it happened, key communications lines that were washed away along the Amarnath Yatra route on Thursday-Friday night, were re-build by Indian Army in record time by the closing hours on Saturday, July the 2nd 2022.

According to news reaching the capital New Delhi, Army reconstructed key bridges on the Baltal route near the Amarnath Cave in a record time.

Soldiers from Chinar Corps were called-in after many small bridges were damaged due to landslides following a sudden increase in temperature which resulted in rise in water level of many streams near Kalimata on the Baltal route.

Two main axis routes were damaged that forced devotees to take a four hour detour.

According to dispatches by various news agencies  – “the 13 Engineer Regiment of Army’s Chinar Corps laid entirely a new bridge in the night against heavy odds of weather and darkness. This resulted in a smooth recommencement of yatra and instilled a sense of safety and security among pilgrims. “.

This year, Amarnath Yatra has been resumed after a gap of two years amidst  high level threat posed by Pak based terrorists organisations.

As an precautionary measure, 200 high-powered bulletproof vehicles are placed in sensitive locations along with security forces to detect explosives as well as other tasks to ensure a safe and secure pilgrimage.
Over 130 sniffer dogs have also been deployed on the vehicle routes heading towards the Lord Shiva’s Amarnath cave shrine which is located at the height of 3,880 meters.
