Relations between India and Canada further deteriorated as Ministry of External Affairs issued travel advisory while stating that anti-India activities are growing in Canada.

Canada has been allegedly supporting terrorists belonging to Khalistan movement aimed against India for creating serious law and order problem.

According to a strongly worded statement issued by MEA on Wednesday the 20th of September 2023,  Indian students in Canada have been advised to exercise extreme caution and remain vigilant.

All Indian passport holders in Canada are being asked to get themselves register with Indian High Commission in Ottawa or Consulate General of India in Toronto and in Vancouver.

MEA has also advised to login on www.madad.gov.in portal

Registration would enable the High Commission and the Consulates General to communicate in a better way with all Indian citizens in Canada in the event of any emergency or untoward incident, as per the MEA.

It may be recalled that on Monday night, Canadian prime  minister Justin Trudeau had accused India for allegedly eliminating a khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on in Canada in June earlier this year.

Indian government had outrightly rejected this.

Najjar, who was a notified terrorist in India and National Investigating Agency (NIA) was on the look-out to nab him.

He was found dead on June 18th 2023 just outside a Gurdwara, in a parking area in Canada’s Surrey, British Columbia.

In the past 72 hours India had expelled one top level diplomat after being provoked in a similar way by the Canadian authorities.

The MEA said in view of growing anti-India activities and politically condoned hate crimes and criminal violence in Canada, all Indian nationals there and those contemplating travel are urged to exercise utmost caution.

The MEA statement added – recently, threats have particularly targeted India  diplomats and sections of the India community who oppose the anti-India agenda.
