Days before next round of army commanders talks between India and China, signals emanating along LAC are still disturbing.

Clear indication appeared when Sun Weidong, Beijing’s ambassador to New Delhi asserted that “Chinese traditional customary boundary line is in accordance with the LAC” in Pangong Lake area. This in simple terms means that Chinese transgression into the Indian side which stretches about 8 kms, is now the ‘new’ LAC.

The MEA spokesperson has already stated that some progress has been with regard to the disengagement but the process is not yet complete.

The new stance taken by the Chinese ambassador is the new headache for the South Block.
