A successful launch of an Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-4, was carried out from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha on Friday the 6th of September 2024.

The launch successfully validated all operational and technical parameters. It was conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command.

Agni-4 missile has a range of 4,000 kms and is a two stage solid propulsion rocket assembly capable of reaching its target zone with remarkable speed.

In its earlier avatar Agni-4 was known as Agni II Prime.
