It was the turn of the Indian Army to acquire their share of Apache attack helicopters when in 15th March 2024, the first batch of ‘flying tanks’, as they are known as, were inducted into the Indian Army Aviation Corps.
Jodhpur is now far from the Pakistan border. And locating the army’s flying tanks gives a huge advantage to the Indian Army for their attack formations.
The Director General of the Indian Army Aviation, Lt Gen Ajay Suri was present along with senior officials from Boeing, the manufacturer of Apache helicopter.
There are already 22 Apache attack helicopters with the Indian Air Force.
