The security forces on Thursday the 29th of December 2022detained a Chinese female Sang Zialang visiting Bodhagaya to attend the discourses of the Nobel Laureate and Tibetian spiritual leader Dalai Lama under suspicion of espionage.

News agency UNI is reporting while quoting local police superintendent Harpreet Kaur that the Chinese female allegedly moving in suspicious circumstances was detained from Maharani Road.

The police added that a missive operation was taken-up in the area after getting a tip-off about a Chinese espionage activity targeting Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama.

The SSP said that further action would be initiated on the basis of interrogation of the Chinese lady who had arrived here on October 19, 2019 to attend the discourses of Dalai Lama but could not return to China because of covid-19 pandemic.

She said that the local people had tipped up the police about the women collecting information about Dalai Lama. On the basis of the inputs the police swung into action and began to search the female after releasing her sketch.

Meanwhile, the security of Dalai Lama was beefed up in view of the espionage activities. Apart from the place where the spiritual leader Dalai Lama is staying,
