All eye are now on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio broadcast scheduled for Sunday 26 April 2020 wherein enough indications are likely to emerge answering two key questions namely, will there be a lockdown 3.0 and is the virus curve dipping ?

The current phase of countrywide lockdown is schedule to end on 3 May 2020 after a straight 40 day run.

A day after his radio address, on Monday 27 April 2020, the PM will hold his third video conference with the Chief Ministers. According to reports available late on Friday night, the PM will be seeking suggestions and opinions on a possible exit route from the lockdown situation.

Many Chief Ministers had publicly expressed economic hardships their states while pleading the Central Government for immediate financial packages.

The Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh had gone a step further by writing to all fellow chief ministers urging them to put pressure on the Prime Minister for releasing funds for the states to tackle COVID19 crisis.

Meanwhile on Friday the country recorded the highest spike in fresh cases of virus.

1,752 new positive cases were reported in a span of single day.

The total tally of COVID19 cases rose to 23,452.

Out of these as many as 17,915 are active cases while 4,813 have been cured and discharged.

However, the Health Ministry officials added that no new cases were reported in 15 districts in the last 28 days.

As of now, all eyes are on PM’s ‘Maan Ki Baat’.

The Prime Minister normally addresses the nation every last Sunday of the month  at 11 am on All India Radio.
