The External Affairs Minister (EAM) met the met the Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy PM and Defence Minister Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed.
The news agency UNI is quoting a statement from the Crown Prince of Dubai’s office: ”Sheikh Hamdan received an official invitation from Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, to visit the country in April this year. The invitation was conveyed by Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs, during a meeting with HH Sheikh Hamdan today.
“Welcoming Dr. Jaishankar and his accompanying delegation, HH Sheikh Hamdan reaffirmed the strong bonds, rooted in historic ties, between the UAE and India, spanning economic, cultural, social and developmental fields. His Highness also highlighted the continuous growth of UAE-India relations under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Excellency Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
“During the meeting, both sides explored ways to enhance their multi-faceted bilateral cooperation, with a focus on sectors critical to the future aspirations of the two countries. The discussions emphasised the importance of strengthening economic ties by further leveraging the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to enhance trade flows and investment opportunities.”
In a post on X, the EAM said:
“Delighted to meet Crown Prince of Dubai and DPM & Minister of Defence of UAE HH @HamdanMohammed.
“A warm conversation on our deep bonds of friendship and taking them forward for the good of our people.”
The UAE Defence Minister said in a post on X:
“Today, I met with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, to discuss ways to further strengthen the UAE-India strategic partnership and enhance people-to-people ties.
“I was pleased to receive an invitation from the Prime Minister of India to visit the country in April. The enduring relationship between our nations, guided by our leadership, has raised UAE-India relations to new heights.
“Our partnership serves as an exemplary model for bilateral cooperation, contributing to regional and global stability.”
