In one of the biggest military deals that India has ever signed with a foreign country, 31 Predator MQ-9B Sky Drones and its weapons all made in USA are coming to India.
The was formally signed on Tuesday the 15th of October 2024.
The Ministry of Defence in a post on social media platform X said, “Ministry of Defence today inked a contract with the US Government for Tri-Service procurement of 31 MQ-9B Sky/Sea Guardian High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS).”
The contracts were inked in the presence of Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane and other senior officials of both the countries.
On this occasion, an agreement was also signed with the Atomic Global India Private Limited for logistics, repair and maintenance of these drones in India.
According to sources, Navy will get 15 Predator drones while Air Force and Army will get eight Predator drones each. According to an estimate, the price of this deal is Rs 32,000 crore.
