National Security Advisors of India and United States spoke to each other over a telephone conversation.
It happened on Friday after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s had just returned from a visit to Russia earlier this week.
That Modi’s visit to Moscow and his meeting with Vladmir Putin had visibly angered the leadership of United States.
On Thursday the American ambassador to India had indicated in more then one ways his country’s displeasure when in speech made at the local function.
On Friday the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement that National Security Adviser Ajit Doval had a telephone conversation with his US counterpart Jake Sullivan.
They discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral, regional and international concern and forthcoming high-level engagements under the Quad framework to be held in July 2024 and later in the year.
The NSAs agreed to work closely to further advance India-US relations, which are built on shared values and common strategic and security interests.
They reiterated the need to work collectively to address global challenges to peace and security and further expand the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
