The NRI gathering otherwise known as Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is coming back in its physical form after a gap of 4 years.
This time around the president of Guyana Irfaan Ali and Surinamese President Chan Santokhi will attend the PBD as chief guest and special guest of honour, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Thursday.
The 17th PBD will be held in Indore from 8th of January to 10th of January 2023.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally inaugurate the conclave on January 9th, Ausaf Sayeed, Secretary (Overseas Indian Affairs) in the MEA, said at a media briefing.
Over 3,500 delegates from 70 countries are coming this time to take part in the PBD.
The previous two PBD conclaves were held in virtual format due to Covid 19 pandemic situation.
