The National Capital on Wednesday the 4th of January 2023 recorded the coldest day of this season as a shivering cold wave conditions persisted throughout the day with visibility at times falling short of 200 meters.

At 4.4 degrees Celsius, Delhi was colder that Dharamshala, Nainital and Dehradun.

The temperature has been recorded as similar to the cold spell between December 25-27,” said IMD Scientist Dr RK Jenamani – as quoted on ANI’s website.
However, in the last 24 hours, no dense fog conditions have been recorded.

Early in the morning, a cold wave continued to grip Delhi causing the temperature to dip in the National Capital and adjoining areas.

At least 19 trains to Delhi were delayed by one-and-a-half to four-and-a-half hours due to the foggy weather, a Railways spokesperson said.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) shared satellite images that showed a thick layer of fog over the Indo-Gangetic plains and adjoining central and eastern parts of the country.
