Fifty four additional apps serviced by Chinese computers and servers have been banned by India after it became clear that such apps are potent threat to India’s security.
Last September Government of India has banned a set of 118 Chinese apps for mobiles phones.
This fresh banned list effective form Monday, 14th February 2022 includes among others – Beauty Camera: Sweet Selfie HD, Beauty Camera – Selfie Camera, Equalizer & Bass Booster, CamCard for SalesForce Ent, Isoland 2: Ashes of Time Lite, Viva Video Editor, Tencent Xriver, Onmyoji Chess, Onmyoji Arena, AppLock, Dual Space Lite.
The security threat was traced to servers and data banks located in Chinese territory after it was found that details of users were exported to organisations that were ‘prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of the state and public order’.
